Day 1 · Morning praise · Psalm 113
Now and Forever
Sit with this Psalm when praise feels possible, or when you need a simple place to begin.
Hear
“From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same, Yahweh’s name is to be praised.”Psalm 113:3 (WEB)
Notice
Psalm 113 calls for the name of the Lord to be praised from sunrise to sunset, and marvels that the One enthroned on high stoops to lift the poor from the dust and set the needy among princes.
Pray
God of every hour, meet us where we are. Lift those who have been pressed into the dust, and let our lives become honest praise. Amen.
A small practice
Notice the light at one ordinary moment today and offer one sentence of thanks.
A question to carry
Where do you need to be reminded that God notices the lowly?
