Gathered Light

Our story

Gathered Light was created with a simple purpose: to share the Word of God through music.

Gathered Light was created with a simple purpose: to share the Word of God through music.

On Crown On The Dust, twelve Psalms become original songs—music intended to invite people into Scripture, make its message feel close and relevant, and offer joy, reflection, praise, and encouragement.

From the creator

The album began with Winston’s idea. He is a great friend who is always looking for positive ways to share the light of God with others. He believed these Psalms could reach people in a new way, and he trusted me, as the creative, to give that idea musical form.

Together, the idea and creative direction became twelve songs built to carry the Psalms into everyday listening. Every choice was guided by the same hope: that the music would help people encounter the Word with fresh joy, reflection, and passion.

With gratitude

Special thanks to Winston and Beth Cho, whose faith and steady encouragement continue to inspire and uplift others through the Word of God. Winston first brought the idea for this album to me and trusted me with the creative freedom to explore the Psalms and shape the music. He approaches everyone he meets with sincere faith and generous intentions—a spirit shared by his wonderful wife, Beth. Crown On The Dust carries their encouragement and light with deep gratitude.

The twelve Psalms

How they shaped the songs

Each song began by staying close to a Psalm’s movement and images, then carrying them into everyday listening. The result is an invitation back into Scripture rather than a replacement for it.

About the album title

Reflection

Psalm 103 holds two things at once: God crowns his people with loving kindness and tender mercies, and God remembers that we are dust.

That is where the album title comes from. A crown laid on the ground is not a picture of defeat — it is a picture of God knowing our frailty and meeting it with compassion, forgiveness and dignity. Bright, alive and loving, rather than grim.

Where to hear it

A note on the creative process

Crown On The Dust was guided by a human creative vision and produced with a range of modern tools, including AI-assisted technology. Those tools helped bring the music to life efficiently; the spiritual purpose, discernment, and final creative direction remained human-led.
